Camping with Coleman

When I was approached by Coleman and NWF to host a camping contest, I was ecstatic! Remember how, before all of this technology, we used to go out and enjoy being outside? Whether you played army men in the vacant lot three houses down, or went outside after a good rain and gathered up as many night crawlers as you could fit into your improvised shirt cradle, … [Read more...]

Boy Scouts of America

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boy Scouts of America. All opinions are 100% mine. Tonight Jason and Tater are off at a Boy Scouts of America meeting; Jason became an assistant leader tonight and I am so thrilled! This is Tater's second year in Scouts and Jason grew up in it... as did my grandpa, uncles, dad, father-in-law, etc. and I think they are all somehow better for it. I remember attending meetings with my brother when I was younger and just thinking how … [Read more...]

Dutch oven caramel apples

This past weekend when we went camping we decided to try some new dinners and desserts using our Dutch oven because we never use it but we know how great it can be! I will start out by saying that you should get some liners for it at your local sporting goods store, without them cleaning the oven out can be awful! They are fairly cheap and make clean up easy. We ended up having to get the parchment ones because we couldn’t find the foil ones but they worked out just fine. {Ingredients} 2 … [Read more...]

Camping Fanatic

For a while in my teens I forgot about the outdoors and how lovely it is out there, it fell to the wayside because my friends and boyfriends were more important. When I hit my early 20’s I remembered my true love and longed to go again but at that point I couldn’t afford to go; then we had our boys and we didn’t want to take babies camping because we were afraid that it was too cold. … [Read more...]
