The Lantern Fest Releases Tickets for Sunday Event
Family event opens second day
DENVER – February 24, 2016 – Lantern Fest organizers announced the popular event will remain in Denver for an extra day. When tickets for the festival on April 23 almost sold out, event representatives received permission to launch lanterns a second night.
“We were not expecting such a massive response from the public,” said Lantern Fest event director Spencer Humiston. “But we are thrilled that we were given permission to open a second day so more people can enjoy the spectacle.”
During this family- friendly festival, thousands of biodegradable Chinese lanterns are set aloft to remember loved ones, turn over new leaves, or find hope for the future. In the time leading up to the launch, kids enjoy a stage show, face painting, photos with princesses, balloon artists and more. After sunset, lanterns float into the night in one magnificent spectacle.
“The Lantern Fest has become a meaningful event for many participants,” said Humiston. “There is just something about gazing into the sky that makes you feel like you are part of something bigger, and your worries and problems almost disappear.”
Lantern Passes can be purchased online and are required for admission to the event. Each pass comes with a lantern, marker, s’mores kit and lighter. Visit http://www.thelanternfest.com/
About The Lantern Fest
Historically, Chinese Lanterns have been used to symbolize good fortune, request favorable weather, and celebrate the lives of loved ones. In 2015, The Lantern Fest introduced this ancient tradition to the USl. Featuring food, music, s’mores, and children’s entertainment, when the sun goes down, lanterns light the sky in one spectacular release.
