Beard Balm recipe
- 1/2 cup Coconut oil
- 1/4 cup Shea butter
- 2 tablespoons Beeswax
- 20 drops of Essential Oil (I did equal portions of Fennel and Lavender, but you could use Anise in place of Fennel) (You can get more info on buying Young Living essential oils here)
Directions for Beard Balm
- Warm the Coconut oil, Beeswax, and Shea butter in a pan over low heat, until everything is liquefied. Remove from burner, allow to cool for a couple of minutes (the heat will ruin the therapeutic properties of the essential oils if you put them in while it’s still hot!) Mix well, and pour into a jar.
- Apply to your beard daily for conditioning
- World domination! Your soft beard will get you all kinds of attention 😉
You can try any combination that you like; Lavender and Black Pepper, Nutmeg and Patchouli, Cinnamon Bark and Orange, Shutran, maybe some Mister. A little bit of sweet smell, with a savory smell, is very pleasant and refreshing.
I will say that I have used this a couple of times on my own face (sans beard), and it is really lovely! I might make up a batch for myself, to use as moisturizer during the winter months.
