Our family trip to Water World is one of our favorite family traditions! We get our swimming gear ready the day before the “big trip,” and we take a trip to the store to pick out all of the snacks, and drinks for the day, and we get the cooler ready to go. The morning of our visit, we wake up early to get our bathing suits on, and head out for the day!
We sprung for the Tube Valet, and if you are over the age of 16 (and especially if you have young kids going with you!) this is worth it’s weight in gold. It is kind of pricey, but honestly, making it up all of those hills without a giant tube is hard enough! You put a little band around your wrist, and it entitles you to walk to the top of the hill and just grab a tube up there. The thing to know is that there are a limited number available each day, and they do sell out, so arrive early.
Here’s a little video that seems to sum up our day pretty well-
Midday we break for some grapes, water, and some lunch from one of the little food huts. Every year I am surprised at how affordable the food is compared to other amusement parks, and it actually tastes good too. I think for our family of 5 it was around $40-$45 for lunch… not too shabby!
The facts about Water World
Water World is the ultimate value for individuals or families. You can enjoy all day fun for one price and, which is quite rare, you have the freedom to bring in your own picnic. And, there are healthy food options and salads in a variety of locations. There is free parking and it’s easy to access from the freeway, just west of 1-25 at the 84th Avenue Exit.
Water World creates memories of a lifetime by providing good, clean, safe, fun on 70 acres with 50 attractions. There are rides from the mild to the wild and most of Water World’s attractions are themed and customized—meaning you will not see them anywhere else.
In case of inclement weather, Water World has a generous rain check policy; if attractions are cleared for more than an hour, guests receive a rain check to come back and visit the park.
What you should bring to Water World
- Sunglasses- I wore mine on every ride, no problem
- Sandals- only if you like your feet
- Sunscreen- obviously
- Cooler/Water- stay hydrated!
- Snacks- keep your blood sugar up, so you have energy to get on more rides!
- Blanket- claim a spot on the grass in the morning, so you can take a break there through the day.
- Cash- get a locker for your phone, car keys, etc. I just get the quarter lockers because I only open it 1-2 times while we are there. If you know you’ll need access more often, get an all day locker instead.
Disclosure: We were given tickets to visit for one day so that we could do this review. The opinions above are 100% my own and were not influenced in anyway. We truly do love Water World <3
