It has been over a month since my final You At The Center class, and things are very different for me now vs. when I started the program. I found myself riddled with guilt and anger for decisions I had made in my past; but I knew that I shouldn’t hold on to those emotions, the past is the past, right? I mean, it’s easy to know that you can’t change things… but letting go of regrets, or sadness, is much harder than just having the desire to do so. I was on a roller-coaster of emotional terror.
Now that you know where I started, I can fill you in on where I finished… or where I am now. I honestly, truly, feel like this program changed the way that I look at myself, and talk to myself. It helped me to realize that I should try to be as kind to myself as I would be to anyone else that I love when they are having a hard time. I cannot beat myself up, I have to love myself, and offer up some understanding. I try to put myself first, I do things that make ME happy without guilt.
You At The Center freed me from myself. I think that the course gives you what YOU need, it is kind of custom fit to you, and where you are in life in it’s own way. You do much of the course work at home, alone, so you can focus on whatever you feel is the most important to you. The class meets online once a week, and you listen to others, and share your story. The more you share, the more you get out of the class, and actually, the more everyone else gets too! It is helpful to hear other stories, people you can identify with, especially during a time of change in your life.
