When I found out that they were making a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) I had mixed feelings; I was excited that my kids would get to experience something that meant so much to my childhood, but I was also worried that they would mess it up.
The kids and I went to see it, and we were not disappointed! This movie is actually really good!
The story is one very similar to the ones of my past, April O’Neil meets the TMNT and helps them catch some bad guys. This movie has some great fight/action scenes, mixed with plenty of comedy relief (thanks Mikey!)
The terrible enemy Shredder has seized control of New York City’s police officers and politicians, and spreading chaos in the streets with his Foot Clan. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles leap into action, to defend their beloved city. With the help of April O’Neil and her witty camera man, the TMNT will track down the Foot Clan and take care of business! With their help, Shredder’s plan will unravel, and the city will rise again.
I took Moose (8, male) and Tater (10, male) to see this movie, and they were excited before it even started, they just knew it was going to be great. Like I said though, I wasn’t so sure.
This movie was really cool, it kept the kids (and me) entertained the whole time. There was a lot of action, almost from beginning to end, so that the kids were really drawn in and paid attention the whole time. I didn’t hear any kids in the theater making noise actually, I am sure they were all focused on the movie, which is rare.
Moose says- “It was the funniest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie ever!”
Tater says- “It was so funny!”
Overall, I would recommend this one to anyone who grew up with TMNT, or anyone who didn’t. Anyone really! You don’t have to see any of the previous movies, or cartoons to know exactly what is going on in this movie. I would expect this franchise to put out a few more movies in the next couple of years, and I hope they do!
