You know that nagging hunger that hits you around 2 or 3 every afternoon? It is the weirdest time because you don’t want to eat a full meal and ruin your dinner, but if you ignore this hunger you will very likely have a huge dip in energy and end up napping on the couch or under your desk.
Snacking mid-day always feels so dirrrty to me, like I am wasting calories on nothing! I just can’t help it though, I really can’t. Without a snack dinner feels like it is a million years away. When this urge hits I know that I have 2 choices (besides the nap), I can choose something that will be healthy and filling or I can refuse myself and end up binging on a handful of candies or some other junk food option.
When I was contacted by SolBites, a local, healthy, snack company I thought it would be great to give it a go and see how I liked it. They sent me 3 different flavors to try out; Almond Butter with Honey, Chocolate Almond Butter with Strawberry and Peanut Butter and Strawberry. My favorite was the Almond Butter with Honey, which surprised me! The come with little crackers, the almond or peanut butter and either fruit spread or honey.
These are a delicious little snack that you can throw into your lunch box or just store them in your desk drawer for those afternoon hours when you can’t wait to eat something. At about 200(ish) calories per pack, depending on the flavor, they are a great low-calorie snack option. I also loved that the honey was very creamy and stayed on the cracker… instead of all over my hands and the front of my shirt.
