The Odd Life of Timothy Green

timothy greenWhen I first heard of this movie, I will admit, I was curious. The name alone tends to grab your attention and make you go hmmm… I wonder what that one is about?

Here is the synopsis-

Academy Award®–nominated director/writer Peter Hedges (“Dan in Real Life,” What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?”) brings enchantment to the screen with “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” an inspiring, magical story about a happily married couple, Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. When young Timothy (CJ Adams) shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim—and their small town of Stanleyville—learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts.

When young Timothy suddenly comes into the lives of Cindy and Jim Green, they learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts.

This movie really was enchanting. The story is emotional and takes you from one end of the spectrum to the other. As stated above, Timothy Green comes into the lives of Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton) after they dream about what their child would be like and place their dreams in a box and bury this box in a garden in their backyard. His life shows these two hopeful parents about what it is like to love someone as a child, and takes them through challenges and joys most of us parents have to wait years and years to go through.

Who this is for- Parents- those people without children might enjoy this but I feel the full effect would come to those with children already in tow…

Who this is not for- The movie is family friendly and there were not any inappropriate parts through the whole thing

My recommendation- this is a great movie to sit at home one rainy night and watch with your significant other, or a blanket and popcorn… Enjoy!
