Feeling Brave?

Disney’s Brave is a tale of a female hero- Princess Merida is determined to make her own way and choose her own fate, much to the chagrin of her Mother- Queen Eleanor. The movie begins with a little princess dancing around in a field on her birthday, a day that ended with a giant bear attacking her father. (Don’t worry- he doesn’t die). Fast forward to a teenage Merida, now with three little brothers (Moose, Tater and Boo’s favorite characters), who has just found out that the three rivaling clans will be competing for her hand in marriage.

The movie is filled with comic relief, action, a little suspense and over-all, a good story line. It seemed to be some sort of hybrid Disney movie, a cross between a princess movie and an action movie. The animation is just as superb as always, Pixar never ceases to amaze in that department, and it is easy to follow. The only negative comment I would have about the film is it seems to build and build and build up to a climax, then just falls flat…Not bad, just different than what we are normally use to from Disney and Pixar.

Who this is for- anyone, some parts seemed a little mature for children- but nothing too racy

Who this isn’t for- Well, if you don’t like Disney, Pixar or red hair… probably not your show

My recommendation- wait for the blue-ray to come out- if you don’t have blue-ray, check it out in the theater just to see the animation.
