Candies! and a giveaway!

I am sure I am repeating myself here, but in case you don’t read here often my son is (in my opinion) Red40 sensitive, so we have taken all Red40 out of his diet. It hasn’t been easy because, although I shouldn’t, I feel really guilty that he cannot have all of the candies and things that most other kids can have. Like I said, I know I shouldn’t feel bad but when it’s Halloween and I have to take away 1/2 of his candy because he can’t have it, it doesn’t feel great.

I have gone out of my way to find candies that do not have Red 40 (and really, we try to avoid all the dyes) and I have been fairly successful! We recently found out about Glee Gum! A company that creates all gum, but more than that, they have these fun little kits that you can use to make your own gummies, chewing gum and even chocolate!

We opted to try out the Gummies Kit, since the kids love gummies and we can rarely find ones that they can have. This kit is so cool! The directions are simple, the kids were able to do it with minimal help from me. The other really fun thing is that you can shape the gummies into whatever you want, you create the molds to pour your candies into. So we used household items like a bend-y straw, which made a little snake!

After you make the gummies you roll them in the sour sugar mixture and let me tell you, that makes them beyond delicious! We all really enjoyed these candies, in fact Jason wanted to steal some from the kids! Talk about YUMMY!

So, now that you’ve heard all about it, do you want to win a candy kit of your own? Well then, you are in luck!
