Last night I had the pleasure of going to Aerial Dance Over Denver to watch one of the classes. I have always loved aerial dance, especially the fabric dancing. I don’t know how I thought that these people learned to do this amazing stuff, but I didn’t realize that there was a dance class to teach you!

I was able to watch a class of young girls who had been attending class for just a few weeks, but you wouldn’t know it from the way that they preformed! They seemed to know quite a bit, at least in my opinion. Two of the girls were very young, around 5-7 and they were able to do some pretty awesome stuff! The other girls were teenagers and they were fantastic, they were winding themselves up in the fabric and doing drops that I can’t even imagine attempting.
The teacher, Megan, was very nice and had a level of patience that I cannot even fathom. The girls would do their own thing and Megan would bounce between them helping them with whatever move they were trying to do and when they finished each move she would show them another one to try.
It was really neat to see the sense of accomplishment in the girls’ faces when they finally got a move figured out. I can certainly see how this would be an extremely good choice for someone who could use a self-esteem boost because the girls would literally beam with pride after doing a move. One of the girls even ran up to her dad, after completing a hard move for the first time, and said “I did it! I accomplished my life’s dream, for four weeks!” It was hilarious.
The prices are good too, I thought it would be expensive but it isn’t really. You can click here to see some classes or the summer camps and get yourself or your kids signed up!
Aerial Dance Over Denver isn’t just for kids, they have classes for all ages! No matter your experience level or age, you should try it at least once, it looks too fun to miss!

My name is Sarah, I have been very happily married for 8 years now. I am the mother of 2 adorable boys; Tater (Caden) who is 8 and Moose (Conlan) who is 6. We are living in beautiful Colorado, homeschooling our kids and loving every minute of it!

Thanks for this informative and inspiring blog review. Now I will have to go check out Aerial Dance over Denver. I’m going to visit their website to see when the next performance is scheduled. I am thinking this could be a great addition and/or alternative to kids dance and gymnastic classes.
Thats cute and funny what the kid said to her dad! I bet this was really cool to watch.
I love that you posted about this!!!! I’m a huge fan of Aerial Dancing of all types!
That looks fabulous! I’ve been wanting to try aerial yoga. Before reading your post, I didn’t even know aerial dance existed! Wish they’d take me, but I may have to settle for watching my daughter do it.

Lori! It’s not true! I am going to edit the post now, but they take ALL ages. They told me that they have women over 40 doing the classes!
