Geyser Rocket Car- Review

My boys are obsessed with all things science; anything that involves an experiment of any sort is right up their alley! Steve Spangler is this amazing science guy who has a ton of kid friendly activities that are a whole lot of fun mixed with learning. As a homeschooling mom, I love this stuff!

We got the Geyser Rocket Car and it was simple to put together, the kids’ did it themselves. I have seen the thing on TV where they take a bottle of soda and drop Mentos into it and watch the soda shoot into the air and the boys’ have done it at their homeschooling co-op but I have never done it, so I was nervous. The directions tell you to buy clear, sugar free soda for the Geyser Rocket Car but I didn’t read them before I rushed out to buy soda so I got the kind that I have seen on TV, Cola! The kids’ had been begging me to build and use the car for a few days so I finally said ok and we headed to the park.

Geyser Rocket CarWe did everything just like the instructions said and it went off without a hitch. The kids loved it! They even made the other kids’ at the park come over to watch because they were so excited. The car went really far and shot soda out the whole time, which was fun. We had 3 bottles of soda (1 per kiddo) and on the third one I tried to attach the part that holds the Mentos and the soda must have splashed up because the next thing I know soda was shooting in my face and I was trying to put the car down as fast as possible, lol. It was hilarious, the kids really loved that part and I was a good sport about it but this is where the dark sugary soda comes into play… I had to shower the second I got home because I was so sticky.

Overall we loved this car, it was really fun and the learning experience was great! I would recommend this to anyone!
